Instagram Insights for Reels, Live
Instagram launched information for Reels and Live to help creators and businesses better understand how their content is performing on the platform. They will be able to access new metrics such as plays, counts reached, likes, comments, saves and shares for the rolls. While for Live, they will be able to see reached accounts, peak concurrent viewers, comments and shares. These metrics will be available in Account Insights in addition to detailed new information about Reach, the Facebook-owned platform said in a blog post. “It’s important to better understand how content is distributed. So we’ve created new breakdowns that let you know what types of accounts you’re reaching and what content formats are most effective at generating audiences, ”he explains. This week, the Facebook-owned platform also announced that everyone on Instagram and Facebook will now have the option to hide their audience as accounts.
$ 100 million OpenAI start-up fund
OpenAI, the artificial intelligence (AI) research company that has built one of the most advanced language models – GPT-3, has announced a $ 100 million OpenAI start-up fund to help AI companies. The Fund seeks to partner with a small number of start-ups in areas where AI can have a transformative effect, such as healthcare, climate change and education. “We want to help push the boundaries of what powerful AI models can do and support truly ambitious projects aimed at solving complex problems at the highest level,” said Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, in a video . The fund is managed by OpenAI, with investments from Microsoft and other OpenAI partners. “They [the startups in the fund] will get early access to future OpenAI systems, discounts on Azure and support from our team, ”noted Altman. In another development, Nandan Nilekani said India is well positioned on the government and business fronts to leverage AI in unique ways to solve challenges and exploit opportunities.
Twitter spaces available on the web
Twitter mentionned On Thursday, its “Spaces” audio chat feature will now be available on the mobile and desktop web (via Twitter.com). The microblogging platform noted that its focus areas for this deployment include a user interface that adapts to the user’s screen size, reminders for planned spaces, as well as the accessibility and transcripts. Based on the screenshots shared by Twitter, it looks like Spaces will feature live transcripts, allowing people with hearing loss to follow the conversations. Twitter’s Clubhouse-like functionality is already available on iOS and Android. Meanwhile, other companies like Facebook, Telegram, ByteDance, LinkedIn, and Reddit are working on their own Clubhouse-style audio functionality. Clubhouse, an invitation-only audio chat app that recently entered the Android ecosystem, gained popularity after chatting from Elon Musk and Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev. This week, Twitter also announced its intention to advocate for changes to the fundamentals of India’s new IT rules that prevent free and open public conversation.
AWS to open data centers in UAE
Amazon Web Services (AWS) on Wednesday announced plans to open a new cloud infrastructure region in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the first half of 2022, allowing customers to run workloads and store data locally while serving end users with even lower latency. Organizations using this region will also be able to access advanced technologies from a suite of cloud services to drive innovation, including compute, storage, networking, databases, analytics, l machine learning, the Internet of Things (IoT) and mobile services. The UAE region will consist of three Availability Zones and will become the second AWS Region in the Middle East along with the existing AWS Region in Bahrain. AWS plans to launch 18 additional Availability Zones and six additional AWS Regions in Australia, India, Indonesia, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates, he said. In another development, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos said on Wednesday that Amazon chief executive Andy Jassy would take over as CEO on July 5.
Far Cry 6 releases October 7
Ubisoft’s highly anticipated game, “ Far Cry 6, ” will be released on October 7, 2021, after an eight-month delay. The sixth installment in the popular Far Cry series will be available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Stadia, Amazon Luna, Windows PC, and as part of Ubisoft +, the service of Ubisoft subscription. The game is now open for pre-order. For all the avid gamers around the world looking forward to playing the game, Ubisoft has offered a preview of Far Cry 6 gameplay. The game was originally slated for release in February this year, but has been delayed due to COVID-19. The games in the franchise have gained great popularity over the years and have been made available for PC as well as consoles. In another games-related update, Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5 is now available in Early Access, giving developers and designers the ability to start testing features and prototyping their next games.
Microsoft Surface Laptop 4 in India
Microsoft launched its Surface Laptop 4 in India. The device retains the design, details and materials of previous models and features the signature 3: 2 PixelSense high contrast touchscreen in the 13.5 and 15 inch models. Surface Laptop 4 is available with 11th Generation Intel Core processors or AMD Ryzen mobile processors with Radeon Graphics Microsoft Surface Edition (8 cores). The device is available in Alcantara or metal in the colors platinum and black. The price of mainstream variants starts at ₹ 1,09999, while commercial variants start at ₹ 1,05499. The Surface Laptop 4 will be available to business and educational customers through authorized retailers and to consumers through Amazon.in, the software giant said. In another development, Microsoft Build 2021, the company’s annual developer conference kicked off on Tuesday with the opening speech by CEO Satya Nadella.
